Model UN in Leiden

NJC group at LEMUN

Our trip to Leiden, Netherlands for LEMUN, a Model United Nations hosted by a school in Leiden, was very successful. There were a mix of students from all over the world - there were schools from the Netherlands, England, Sweden, USA, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Scotland, Slovakia, Suriname, France and Germany. In the Model UN, our students represented Finland, China, and Croatia. The students who attended were Charlotte P, Jordy W, Sam C, Natalia H, Harry M, Emily L, Jack T, Graeme F, and Meg T, and they represented NJC very well in their committees, speaking and voting on behalf of their countries. They worked on resolutions in the following committees: Economic and Social Council, the Environmental Commission, the North Atlantic Council, and several General Assemblies. Of note, Sam C was voted Best Delegate in his General Assembly.

Before we went to Leiden we stopped for a night and day in Amsterdam, and enjoyed an excellent Indonesian dinner (called "rice table"), and then toured Amsterdam on foot, in between visits to the Van Gogh museum and the Anne Frank Haus.

Overall, it was a great trip. To see more photos, http://www.njc.ch/news_and_events/student_photos
