NJC hosts SGIS Swim Meet

On December 4th, NJC hosted the annual SGIS swim meet at Neuchâtel's beautiful swim complex, with 8 schools and 100 participants in competition: International School of Basel, International School of Bern, The American School in Switzerland (TASIS), Leysin American School, International School of Lausanne, St. George's School in Switzerland, Brillantmont International School and, of course, NJC. NJC's team consisted of Chris L., Conor D., Etienne L., Sam C., Graeme A.-C., Opale F., Meg T., Saori F., and Lauren N.

We had some good results, particularly Chris L., who received a bronze medal for two events: 50m Backstroke and 100m Butterfly. He also placed 7th in 100m Breaststroke, and 4th in 100 m Backstroke. Conor D. placed 5th in the 50m Freestyle, as well as 6th in the 50m Butterfly. Graeme A.-C. placed 8th in the 50m Backstroke, 9th in 100m Breaststroke and 11th in the 50m Breaststroke. Meg T. placed 12th in the 50m Freestyle. Also, the Boys Medley Relay team placed 4th and the Girls Freestyle Relay team placed 5th.

The entire school came out to volunteer, to help with the meet. Of particular note was Ms. Northcott's leadership team of students helping prepare for the meet in advance: Jordy W., Elizabeth A., Robin H., and Sonja H. Thanks to all students and staff for their participation either as a swimmer or volunteer at this year's event.
