NJC wins gold at NESDA Brussels

NJC's team and gold-medal winners Samuel and Charlotte

The weekend of December 11-12, 2011, Meagan C., Ryan K., Samuel M., Jack T., Sam C., Lauren N. and Charlotte P. represented NJC at the New European Speaking, Debating, Acting (NESDA) tournament in Brussels, at the International School of Brussels. Our "duet acting" team of Charlotte and Samuel took First Place (Gold Medal) in their category with their brilliant performance of "The Ledge". They also were awarded the Student First Choice award for their performance. Congratulations to you both!

Our other students also had very noteworthy performances, including Jack, who had the top score in one round of Impromptu Speaking, showing that he can really think on his feet. Not everyone came home with medals, but all the participants are to be commended for their hard work and their courage in performing in front of crowds of complete strangers from all over Europe.

Thanks go to Lyn for organizing all the trip details and to Mr. Boyer, who handled the trip details in Brussels and who had his debut as a NESDA judge.

NJC will be hosting eight international schools for NESDA next March.
