Ms. Jennifer Adriaanse

Deputy Head of School and Ontario Principal
Director of University Guidance and Counselling
BA Brock University
MScEd Niagara University
Ms. Adriaanse’s national and international experiences bring a diverse educational leadership direction to the Neuchâtel setting, and her talent and passion for Guidance and University Placement make her perfectly suited for her roles at NJC. In the early years of her teaching career, she taught French in Moosonee, Ontario in a predominantly Aboriginal setting. Next, she served on the foundational staff to a new school in Brunei Darussalam on the Island of Borneo for three years. Following these formative experiences at home and abroad, Ms. Adriaanse returned to Canada in 2000 to serve Ridley College in St. Catharines, Ontario – one of NJC’s fellow Canadian Accredited Independent Schools.

Working in Guidance since 2008, and leading the department since 2010, she encouraged students to explore their many post-secondary options while supporting them in navigating the application process and the all-important graduating year. She also assisted students with AP exam preparation, SAT/ACT coordination and university placement on a global scale. Her personal approach and support of students resulted in admission offers from post-secondary institutions all over the world, especially in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

Ms. Adriaanse feels privileged to play a role at this critical stage for NJC students who are making plans for their post-seondary destinations and futures. Her guiding principle is to use her expertise to assist students in making university decisions that are best suited to their talents and interests—all while inspiring them to consider new possibilities. She is also committed to keeping communication lines open between students, families, and NJC as the exciting university placement process unfolds.
