NJC Canadian Office
The NJC’21 students began their Swiss adventure on Thursday September 10, 2020. The group was welcomed at the Zurich International Airport by NJC staff and set off on the first orientation trip to Grindelwald. After a few days of hiking, alpine games and activities, they arrived at Neuchâtel on Sunday afternoon. Pension families were thrilled to welcome students in Neuchâtel as they are every year on the NJC terrace.

After a week of classes, students set off for the second leg of their orientation trip enjoying the beauty and cultural wonders of Locarno.  School activities are off to a busy start including, Model UN meetings and Friday afternoon sports by the lake. Foyer council elections took place and the students will partake in their first Défis et Découvertes activity shortly.

As described by Mr. Keleher in a recent alumni communication:  “In many ways, it felt like the beginning of a typical academic year, full of promise and enthusiasm. However, there is no denying that this year will be different from most. Much work has been done to ensure that the proper protocols and safety measures are in place.”

Students in the 2021 cohort have come from Canada, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Cyprus and Bermuda and make a spirited group ready to embrace their time in Switzerland and experience a transformational year.
