Orientation 2018-2019!

NJC's newest recruits are getting familiarized with their new home country.
Every year since Neuchâtel Junior College’s inaugural year in 1956, each class has taken part in Orientation Trip tradition. In the early days of NJC, the class would travel by boat from Montreal to the UK before finally arriving in the pristine Swiss Alps. Today, our students arrive much more quickly!

On September 5th, the Class of 2019 touched down in Zürich and met Head of School, Mr. Andrew J. Keleher, and the NJC staff and faculty before travelling to Locarno in the Swiss-Italian region of Switzerland. The group enjoyed long, beautiful summer days exploring Italian style architecture and Italian food!

The second stop on Orientation was Grindelwald - a town at the base of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau mountains. The language changed from Italian to German, the architecture in this area featured beautiful wooden chalets with flowerboxes on every window - a typical Swiss dream.

After six days of eating gelato, zip lining, hiking and enjoying the fresh air, the Class of 2019 came “home” to their carefully matched local host families in Neuchâtel - the setting for the next 10 months and the next big adventure of their lives!
