NJC’22 Valedictorian: Zita

Congratulations to Zita '22, who was selected by her classmates and faculty as the Valedictorian for the Neuchâtel Junior College Class of 2022. Zita comes from Toronto where she attended Earl Haig Secondary School in the Drama Program. Zita’s mother Alex is a member of the NJC Class of 1991.

In her valedictory address, Zita explains how the NJC experience inspired her to ‘Step Outside”.
“...It’s these experiences that made me step outside, step outside of my comfort zone, step outside of a sense of familiarity, not an easy thing to do. This year we stepped outside, outside of planes, and trains, and gondolas on the top of mountains, and out of river rafts, soaking wet. We stepped outside of the budgets we were set at the beginning of the year, outside of hotel rooms in some of the most beautiful cities on earth.”

The life-long friendships and connections that NJC students make were reflected in Zita’s words, as she thanked the Class of 2022:

“Years from now, we’ll get to tell people about this incredible experience we had when we were seventeen. An experience that was shaped and defined by the people we had the privilege of spending it with.”
Zita will be attending the University of Edinburgh in the Fall of 2022 to study English Literature.
